Meet Shumai
Shumai Lin, the founder of Laozi University, is an accomplished educator, writer, and mindfulness teacher devoted to bridging ancient wisdom with modern education. She holds an MEd degree in Comparative Higher Education from the University of Hong Kong, where she later served as a lecturer.
With extensive experience in the global education sector, Ms. Lin has also worked at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, contributing to international educational initiatives. Her passion for exploring the relationship between humanity and nature led her to direct several documentaries focused on the deep connections between civilizations and the natural world.
As a professional writer and columnist, Shumai published The Education I Want: Memoire on the Building of Laozi University and a variety of educational columns, dedicating her work to fostering cultural dialogue, spiritual growth, and holistic learning. She is also a mindfulness teacher trained at the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation, and her teaching integrates Daoist philosophy, modern psychology, and contemplative practices.
